2 + 2 = 5

You are born. You are 'delivered'. You are birth-certified for society and everyone celebrates. You are schooled on how the world works. School is your first job. The pressure is not too bad for the first few years and you make new friends. To ease you in, there is no homework initially, and you work a shorter day. They will put you on the 40 hour week soon enough. You are gently inculcated into the fold.

You learn the structure of a working day - when you are allowed breaks, when you can eat lunch, when you can go to the toilet and when you can go home.

Then they teach you that you are not so important as you were lead to believe. Wide-eyed and eager to learn, you are taught that space is infinite and it is explained that you are a just a spec in a vast universe. The earth you stand on is a giant ball spinning at a thousand miles an hour but you won't fall off if you live in Australia. Those dinosaurs you played with were real and you are related to the monkeys you saw at the zoo. Wars were won by the good guys, Einstein was a genius, and you should fear the threat of nuclear annihilation.

This is called education and if you argue against it, you will be rounded on, scorned, mocked, and called deluded.
